This year's event will take place on the Prom on Sunday 19 August from 1.30 pm to 5.00pm. There'll be the usual live music and two
giant puppets for some added fun.
Look forward to seeing you there (though I might give any exotic beauty treatments a miss this year

).

Is there a specific item that should be sported by forum posters so I know who they are or is it case of enjoying the mystery? Maybe we should carry a balloon or a coloured feather in your hair?

I like the idea of a balloon. What colour?

Yellow, I think - it matches the 'Talk' bit from the logo.

Another idea - we could maybe sport a clue linked to our avatars?

Does that mean I have to leave my curlers in?

Where's it to be held?
I have been known to carry a wee Soup Dragon around with me.
(It sat on the table in the Forresters)

On the Prom SD. The previous ones have centred round the 'cakestand' area.
I've edited my initial post to say where it will be held.

I've been waiting for almost *three weeks* for the alleged overnight delivery of the new batteries for my chair (grrr, spit), but am hoping they arrive in time for getting out to this. I could bring a puffin for ID?

We have been waiting about 4 months now for a new chair[old one to small now] hope your wait is not as long as ours

Aw Izzie, that's terrible! I'm afraid I gave up on the NHS and paid for this one - they're faster taking the cash than delivering the batteries! I hope you get the new chair soon.

Nope and looking at the weather it is just as well
AGM had decided it would be good to hold it slightly later than normal. Date still to be picked. Anyone know when summer will start this year?

PS
AGM also voted that we are to be known as BRRA (Brightons and Rosefield Residents Association).

How did today go? It sounded fab (we came back from my folks around 5pm today) and saw band on cakestand still going strong, it sounded good and quite a crowd.
Any spladooshing going on???

It was great, the band were fab. Mini Pb and I swung our pants and our yellow balloon with quite a crowd.
Shame its only once a year, something like that would go down well regularly.

Reunions rather than spladooshes here - Pb, miniPb, Skeely and Hill Jephson Robb. Plus of course the glorious Orkestra del Sol (minus the sol this time, but they looked good against the grey sky..) and a crowd of happy faces

Congratulations and thank you to everyone involved in organising the day. Really enjoyed it.

Yep. well done to all. It is great fun bumping into everybody against the background of music and puppetry!

They made a great choice of band! I was hoping to meet Joe Madden but quickly realised I had no idea what any of the POD people looked like..

The POD folk were easy to spot Rapunzell - they were the ones with the collection buckets
I was going to post a photo of Joe for you, but Bob seems to have 'rationalised' the gallery on POL so he'll have to remain a mystery man

I should put some of yesterday's photos up here, there may be people-spotting potential

I did keep a lookout for a man in a pink shirt, toreador cape and spangly legs but was out of luck.
Hey, the bucketeers who rattled at me seemed to have an average age of 8 years old and an average height of about a metre - POD or minions..?

Just noticed ourselves in the sand castle one too - on the far right of the dishy pyramid chappy - behind lady in yellow Kagool. Its hard to believe it was so driech on Sunday when you see how it was today. Didn't get any spladooshing done - had to take mini Pb for new shoes this am.
Found a fantastic kids shoe shop in Marchmont called Maddies and Mark's for anyone out there whose kids need new shoes - much better selection than the usual places and such good service. Its the second time we have been and can thoroughly recommend it.
Allotment this afternoon was lovely - have more runner beans than I can shake a stick at. Will be out and about in Porty tomorrow though - ready to pounce!
