Fun Fair back again?

Post by promqueen » 23 Jun 2008, 14:11

Rumour has it from a King's Road resident that the Fun Fair ( I use the term loosely ! ) is coming to the prom for 4 days in July, to be situated behind the bus depot where the hovercraft was.
Does anyone know if it's true? If so, who do we contact to stop it ?? :x

I know that prior to lodging an application, the fun fair owners were trying to ascertain (informally) what the local feeling would be to an application to site the fun fair in that location , Promqueen .

Such an application would go before the Council's licensing sub-committee , which last met on Fri. 20 June. The next meeting is scheduled for 15 August, so any application for July will have been decided already.

One could conduct a council papers search on the CEC website and see if there was an application in jun or the last few months.

From Maureen Child

Update to my newsletter –

I am reliably informed – by one of the two Councillors who took the decision - that the licence application for a large, temporary ‘Fun Fair’ on the Promenade at the back of the Lothian Buses’ garage has been refused.

It will not now go ahead.
