Read in the paper that Golden days is to have another event later this year. Does anyone know what Portobello Community Council is doing to help?

Vacancy - Event Manager - Could it be you?

The community council is already helping with GoldenDays. After the end January meeting we heard that this festival has a great potential but to make it grow to an event we can be proud of we need a vital ingredient.

An event manager

Part-time, working from home, local, flexible hours, 15 weeks, hourly rate, training given, enthusiasm, arts experience a bonus but personable nature, local knowledge and organised mind the pre-requisite.

This is not a job offer as it is entirely subject to funding approval

We have a fabulous, experienced fun team (of 12), all unfortunately with busy full-time jobs. If you have free hours during the day, and think you would be interested, please get in touch.

Date for GoldenDays

Post by rocking » 03 Mar 2003, 22:43

It's on Saturday 14 June 2003. And by co-incidence on the same weekend as the revived Edinburgh marathon runs along the prom.

We have recruited an event manager - Julian Grant. E-mail any ideas to juliangrant@quista.net

We are very keen to follow up on Bob Jefferson's ideas to build a strong Childrens programme. In addition to childrens theatre we are look to have a performance stage. Plus a host of interactive games, sandcastles, kiting, beach games. Someone even suggested a guider building competition !

Ideas to Julian please

Have you found your event manager yet? I live in Porty and have loads of free time and love organising! Let me know if you want to meet to discuss.
Only after the last tree has been cut down, only after the last river has been poisoned, only after the last fish has been caught, only then will you find, that money cannot be eaten.
