Ladies and gentlemen, Portobello Online is proud to announce our very first online auction.
Up for grabs is a copy of the 'Stars of Portobello' calendar, but no ordinary copy. This unique edition has been signed by each of the traders featured. A true collector's item. The calendar can be posted overseas if necessary.
The calendar retails at £5 and I will start the bidding myself at £10. All proceeds go to PCATS and the auction is open now until 2pm on Sunday 21 November.
Please post your bids below.

I can't make it to the sale on Saturday, so I'm bidding £12.

Good for you Brenda. (Phew, that's let's me off the hook!) But I'm confident that we'll get a higher bid yet. An overseas mystery bidder perhaps?
Do I hear £13?

OK Bob I'll bid £13...if only to attract the attention of the "mystery bidder" from overseas"

£20? Now we're talking! Thanks Sandra. Anyone else out there who has had slightly too much to drink like to bid? Mystery Bidder - I think the ball is in your court!

Bearcub, you may be relieved to hear that I have decided to extend the deadline for this auction until next Sunday. Maureen has only just circulated news of the auction to her constituents and Lawrence has yet to. I'm also intending to mass email all users on the matter, so there's a chance you may be saved yet.
So, Mystery Bidder - it's still yours if you want it?

Sandra may indeed be saved from herself, as a mystery bidder has asked me to place a bid on their behalf of £30!

Wow! £30 - that's a very generous offer. Can anyone top that? And who is this mysterious bidder?

And perhaps will remain so. The auction is now closed and the signed calendar goes to Diana's mystery bidder for the sum of £30. Congatulations!
