Obviously I don't think that the thread discussing "JustAttackThem" and getifu.com should have been deleted as it raised interesting issues about censorship and control.

Hopefully this poll won't fall into the Memory Hole too.....

Hmm... I support the deletion of the original post, but feel that the follow-up debate should have stayed in place.

Does anyone else think it's got very serious around here suddenly?

Charming - looks like all mention of getifu.com is banned and gets replaced by stars.

Does this mean that the word getifu is banned, or just if you put .com on the end of it to make getifu.com ?

Hmmm.

Wow. It's really getting Orwellian around here.

I'm going to fight this one until I get kicked off the board myself.

It was a poor show indeed to delete an ongoing discussion.

Very poor show. The deleteist got himself in a corner and IMHO the abscence of a good argument to support the original deletion, led to the removal of the whole thread.

Even if one accepts the original post as being out of order, which I dont, there was absoultely no need to delete the thread, it was developing into a decent debate. Sadly it doesn't appear to have suited the power at be. So with great community spirit the ball has been taken away. My guess is the story will now run and run.

I voted it should have been left.

I didn't think the website was hilarious. I thought it was an outragous reaction to the lack of respect being shown to ordinary people in their lives.

Anything is worth a try when no-one is listening.

g3tifu.com isn't intentionally hilarious, but I still laughed at the lampooning of all our favourite glum-faced local Labourites

believe me, I hate them as much as JustAttackThem for lying us into a brutal war which has killed many innocents.

Labour has had dirty moments in its past - like ditching its plans to scrap Polaris in the sixties, to it's position over the Vietnam war.

But none have provoked such popular outrage as the decision to back a rightist US governments unprovoked invasion - and still Gavin, Larry, Susan and Mo carry the party card.

I'm not laughing *at* get1fu.com - rather at the people it points the finger at....

Just Attack them

Post by Gemini » 01 Jul 2004, 17:21

Gosh I find myself agreeing totally with what Porty has posted for the 2nd time in a week!!

Seriously, I feel the removal of the page is rather petulant.

How would the Moderator's namesake have handled this one, I wonder?

Thomas Jefferson (1743 - 1826) Third President of the United States (1801 - 09) In 1776 Jefferson drafted the American Declaration of Independence. Notwithstanding his foresight in buying Louisiana from France in 1803!!

Typical, just as were beginning to nurture a convivial POF relationship, you had to go and double up on the exclamation marks. :P

In a heartbeat, you are forgiven, consider it over. Let's move on.
