The wisdom of Aesop

Post by Dadaist » 14 Jul 2005, 18:00

The Trumpeter Taken Prisoner

A trumpeter, bravely leading on the soldiers, was captured by the enemy. He cried out to his captors, "Pray spare me, and do not take my life without cause or without inquiry. I have not slain a single man of your troop. I have no arms, and carry nothing but this one brass trumpet." "That is the very reason for which you should be put to death," they said; "for, while you do not fight yourself, your trumpet stirs all the others to battle."

Congratulations - and in your reincarnated state too! A refreshing 1000th post - unlike most of the other drivel from previous 1000thers

Well Dada, I'm a tad disappointed. I was hoping for a critique of Manimal or Knight Rider or something of that ilk.

But Knight Rider is a documentary, isn't it? What are you saying here - David Hassleoffalwaffleoff is what - an actor? And those people he helped were just pretending? I don't buy it for a second, nor these idiots who tell me that KITT is "just a car" and that it's just some guy doing his voice. So where is he, eh - stuck in the boot?

Knight Rider is clearly an expose of a right-wing think-tank gone militant. I applaud the undercover reporters who made the episodes and the sooner Devon Miles is behind bars the better. Any questions?

He was a mere puppet.

Shot in the face in the line of duty. He was a right ugly bastard until FLAG gave him his lovely new fizzog.

You're right about Devon though.
He was always dissing Michael. Just jealous, I guess.

For ecm. An extremely old web page (1997 !!) - my friend Alex wrote a java program which displays a clock. A David Hasslehoff clock. And he's crying.

It's the crying Hasslehoff chronometer :

What's a girl to do? A crying David Hasselhoff or a grimacing William Shatner.

Your friend has a rare and sensitive talent and excellent taste.

It's a bit like choosing a favourite from the adverts for the plates, chess sets and ornaments that Viz comic run. Too difficult.
