Pal of Porty re your signature - was rather dismissive of Bruce until last year when a friend said I really ought to give him a fair listen. Thunder Road has become one of my favourite and most listened to songs. That line about rolling down the window and letting the wind blow through your hair gets me every time and I don't even drive!!

I am with you right there on that one Gedge. I listen to loads of different music but Bruce has been my number 1 since the early 70's - he is the artist I've grown up with and me and Porty have seen him many, many times in concert. Lot's of people have never given him a chance but I am OK with that - music is such a personal choice.Gedge wrote:..was rather dismissive of Bruce until last year when a friend said I really ought to give him a fair listen. P.S. Thunder Road is my favourite song of all time.
Justice delayed is justice denied.
Is anyone still looking out for these? Must change mine soon.
Bellybabe, has anyone already identified yours - Kirsty MacCall I believe. And if it's not it's very similar. What a fine writer she was and a reason why I would support a world wide ban of jet skiers.

This was an excellent programme which might, hopefully, get a repeat showing sometime.Gedge wrote: Bellybabe, has anyone already identified yours - Kirsty MacCall I believe. A while ago Bellybabe confided
.....I think my worst ever present was for my ninth birthday from my dad. My parents were divorced, and he was a bit...useless at presents. Anyway for my 9th birthday he got me...a plate. It had a picture of a very girly girl on a swing covered in flowers, and it said around the rim, "Happy 9th Birthday, Paula Jane" (that's my name out then...but Bob already did that for me in a different thread . Now you even have my middle name...). Was it a Tiny Tears? No. A Mr Frosty, like I'd always begged for? No. A plate. A *&*^$"%(*)&* plate. Just what every nine year old wants.
But worse was to come...he didn't let me take it home. He bought me a *** plate...and then he KEPT it!!!! I mean, what use was a plate saying "Happy 9th Birthday Paula Jane" to him? His name was Kenneth Williams! And he wasn't 9!
