Connection problems

Does anyone else find that on this new server (sorry in advance to those that worked to get us moved to this new server) they have a lot more "down-time".

I've found recently that when I log on later at night that I often get slow service or, even worse, no service when trying to log on to POL.

Is this just me, or do others find the same??

same, have got so used to it i almost don't notice

sometimes it's slow, sometimes it's offline

wangi flagged this initially, didn't he - we'll remind him when he gets back

Normally log on 9-5 and I've never had a problem

Have logged in outside of these hours a few times and twice didn't get anywhere.

Could it be bandwidth due to loads more logging in in the evenings (don't know where everyone logs in from but there seems to be a fair few msgs first things in the morning).

Anyone else finding things slow over the last hour or so??

I couldn't log in at all on Monday early evening - it seemed to be down for about an hour or so. Or was that Sunday????

Anyway, it's taking an age to refresh just now.

Have only just managed to get onto the site just now after trying on and off for a few hours.

It was the same for a couple of hours one afternoon this week. Wednesday, I think.

I've only just been able to get in after trying on and off all afternoon.

There also seems to be a problem with the avatars. Some people's are okay (such as your new image ECM), Some are only partial (All I get of Porty is a slice of lime peel) and some (such as Bob Jefferson) are missing all together

Must go check out if I see the same way. The pages are loading very slowly for me though.

I went to Musselburgh to Clark Brothers, spent a fortune on fish, walked along to Luca's, spent more money on an ice cream sundae, nipped into the greengrocers for some East Lothian potatoes (and was served by the guy who until two weeks ago used to run the 'Haddows' in Portobello ), spent more money, popped into "The Fine Wines company", spent more money. Much more fun than housework

*edit* It'll be macaroni cheese for tea for the rest of the week
