Big Brother

Okay, I know there are Big Brother forums all over the place, but what about local chat for local people?

What do Portyweb readers think of Kitten? I want to like her. She's hurting inside. And I care. Really. But she is just so objectionable. Daubing slogans on the wall the day after her final warning? Please...

If I had ever had a flatmate like that in my student days I would have looked for a new flat pronto.

And Stuart. He's passed four A Levels, you know. Do I look like someone who cares?

Kitten is a d@mn liar, that's what. I genuinely cringe when she comes on screen. She's an embarrassment to the left.

Exactly my view. I try not to get involved with big brother, but the actions of this girl have highlighted exactly what is wrong with public perception of socialist ideals. Its not about anarchy and chaos.

Social justice and equality are philosophical entities and require extensive contemplation. Changing the mechanics of government in reality takes more than shouting very loudly.

Why?

Is she not an embarrassment to women? to lesbians? to vegetarians? to animal rights activists or anti-pornography campaigners..? Or even to cat owners? She calls her cats Puddypuddyquadropodteddyteddyteapot and Kittykittyquadropodtabbytabbypeaches.

Perhaps she is an embarrassment to anarchists? I don't view Kitten particularly as socialist, but she is certainly anti-authoritarian.

The one thing I am certain of is that she is dangerously unstable. For the sake of her own mental health, she should be removed from the house immediately.

The phrase "the left" in my mind applies to anarchists too, as surely they are also socialists, it's just that they are libertarian.

I am making the assumption that she is a revolutionary.

She is an embarrassment to all those groups you mention too - it's just I can only comment on those things which I know and care about.

Mrs Surrealist concurs with you with regards to Kitten's sanity - "borderline personality disorder" - apparently her thoughts are as chaotic as her actions which would explain why one minute she is protesting on the roof saying she'll never come down and the next is smoking a fag and sitting eating her lunch.

I would assume, knowing cats, that as long as she kept the treats and tickles coming and provided plants to nibble and small things to torment, that the cats couldn't give a stuff what they were called.........

Well, i thought I'd be free from BB here - I've never watched it and never will - but was fascinated to see the strength of emotion roused by this woman, so have just been reading about her. From what i read, yes, she's an embarrassment to pretty much most groups. She's one of those women that make left-wing feminist lesbians like me groan and hang our heads in horror. It's so crap that the people seen as representing us in the media are often such terrible ambassadors. I don't think she's doing much good for any of her many causes! If only she'd won, she could have spent the prize money on therapy...

Is anyone watching "Celebrity Big Brother" though "celebrity" is a bit of a joke. I'm quite enjoying it. I think Michael is going to crack up shortly. Does anyone thing Chantelle will manage to fake it as a celeb? Just as well its only on for 3 weeks! I just love reality shows! :D

Like you I am also a sucker for reality shows. I started watching this series to see how George Galloway and Michael Barrymore would interact. Much respect for Galloway. I thought it was interesting when Galloway got everyone to circle and introduce themselves. He certainly tried to stamp his authority there.
Barrymore needs to stop crying. Although he did get a good reception when he joined the show. He is a good entertainer.
Chantelle certainly adds spice to the show. What a girl....All she had to do was remember the band she sings in and the name of her chart single. She managed this then tried to make conversation with certain celebs regarding the position her single reached in the UK charts. This proved too much for her as she told two celebs two different positions. Perhaps numbers are not her strong point.....
Here's a piece of useless info., did you know that Michael Barrymore has one leg shorter than the other...

Why would a politician like Gorgeous George agree to be associated with such total degenerate drivel. And how vile are Dennis Rodman and Jodie Marsh, they deserve each other IMHO

Erm... Jodie Marsh is not fit to lace Dennis Rodman's basketball boots. He is a legend, a supreme athlete, Jodie is a pair of boobs in a vacumn.

As for Gorgeous? I am impressed by how many women journalists have commented on how sexy he is in real life.

I love Celebrity Big Brother for one reason - and that is that the rest of us can get on with our lives free of the fevered egos in the house, if only for the duration of the show. Ideally the house could now be boarded shut or filled with concrete - anything that would muffle the screeches.

I have met the Gorgeous George on one occasion when I visited the HOP a few years ago now, and I definitely agree that yes (even though I prefer my men a tad taller ) that he is a very sexy man - there's just something about him  He has charisma in abundance :!:

He may well be, but he is also an amoral, sexist, chauvinistic, dog in heat, IMHO not that I'm watching the show much at all really

I have actually had to turn it off tonight as I have found the bullying behaviour of Michael, Pete & George too much to stomach. Jodie is no angel by any means but the way they are ganging up against her, forming like a pack of animals waiting to rip her apart is awful to watch.
I usually love watching BB! But the above and Michael's self-pitying behaviour, along with his arrogant 'I know best' attitude is making me hit the remote!

I normally avoid these programmes like the plague but this lot are so watchable  . Pete Burns is just hysterical for loads of reasons. I did have to turn it over though as we were all getting a bit uncomfortable watching George being a cat and purring all over Rula Lenska's lap (boke).

"i salute your courage, strength and indefatigability"

comes

"would you like me to be the cat now?"

It was excruciating to watch him.

I really do wonder if he knows the meaning of some of the words that he uses.

I watched this programme for 10 minutes last night. More than enough. What struck me was how miserable they all were. I was away at New Year and had a great laugh cooking together, playing board games, jolly bantering etc. They just sit around moaning about each other. Really sad and depressing they are prepared to waste part of their lives for a few quid and 15 minutes of fame when they'd be happier at home with their friends.

purrrrrrrr

if he appeared before a grand jury in the states now, all they would have to do once he finished his spiel was go "miaow" and everyone would fall about laughing

Any comments on Jodie Marsh being evicted?
I cannot believe she scored "above average" in the general knowledge quiz.
Jimmy Saville's visit to the house was a surprise.

I haven't watched much of BB ever. Just the occasional few minutes here and there while channel hopping.

I did see something on the news earlier which was quite disturbing. It was George Galloway pretending to be a cat and miaowing and snuggling into Rula Lenska's lap.

And I wonder how much bigger Pete Burn's lips can get? They're already resembling small buttocks and that's just wrong.

Isn't it?

Yes, my dear ecm, it is! Away and put surgical spirit on your feet to toughen them up for your walk tomorrow and don't concern yourself further with those numpties in the BB house!

From the bits I've seen, all I can say is they all come across as extremely "hideous". It's not been pretty to watch 10 (Chantelle gets a pass for not being quite there yet) completely self-obsessed individuals battling to prove to each other who is the most "famous".

If that's what being a "celebrity" makes you, you can keep it.

Sorry folks, but I am quite intrigued by this programme. Now that Jodie has been evicted, I think Michael B will try and get his housemates to gang up on Dennis. Michael is a typical bully. He always wants to victimise someone. Does this make him feel more confident? Michael has already had a little bitching session with Pete about Dennis, who amusingly has been nicknamed "The Rod Father." Seemingly Dennis left his dirty washing on the floor, expecting Michael to wash it for him....I think Michael has enough to cope with tending to his own dirty washing!

Interesting prediction, MoM - we'll see how it pans out.

I'm struggling to see where the next conflict will be now that they've evicted the Marsh monster, but bearcub is right about them all being self-obsessed, so another conflcit cannot be far away.

Pete's already started on Rula and more or less admitted to BB that she'll be next on his list (not that I've been watching any of this you understand... )
