Will I ever catch Porty?
Will I ever catch Porty?
OK, I just looked at the relative post counts - ie click on memberlist and sort by descending order of posts.
*Porty, you can stop reading now, this is boring. Move along. Nothing to see here.*
So Porty is on 3700 and I'm on 2700. When he was at 3300 I was 2300 -ish- so in order to catch him I would :
a) have to increase my post rate to significantly greater than his in order to catch him and compensate for the posts he made during the time it took me to post those "catch-up" posts
b) find someone else to debate with, as it would be impossible to achieve a) if he was involved in those posts - ie was posting proportionately to me during the supposed "catch-up" time
Therefore I have to ensure a relative decrease in Porty's rate of posting, not simply post more myself. Is this possible in today's socio-economic-techno-political climate, both locally and nationally?
Should I be looking for is subject matter which excludes Porty but interests a large body of other members?
Should I try and influence Porty subliminally into buying a dog or taking up macrame?
Help me on the final rung of the slippery POL ladder.

Dada, you're much younger than him so nature should ultimately help you out on your quest to be numero uno postero, if you know what I mean
Or if you can't wait that long, you could stick in and seek promotion from a green mod to one of the orange people and doctor the post count
Anyway why do you want to be top dog

I don't want to be top dog at all. I just want to beat Porty. I don't know why I want to beat Porty, as per the Norah Jones song.foxy wrote:Dada, you're much younger than him so nature should ultimately help you out on your quest to be numero uno postero, if you know what I mean![]()

There are so many symptoms it's an entire field of medicinePoppy wrote:"Will I ever catch Porty?" .......... Why, is it a communicable disease? What are the symptoms?? Pink-shirt-wearing compulsion?![]()

There are many treatment regimes - some traditional, some alternative, and some downright loopy. The current trend is for interactive web-based therapy although some people think this actually makes the condition worse.
Is there a vaccine - or does it only affect men?Dadaist wrote:There are so many symptoms it's an entire field of medicinePoppy wrote:"Will I ever catch Porty?" .......... Why, is it a communicable disease? What are the symptoms?? Pink-shirt-wearing compulsion?![]()
