Incident on the prom
As i was coming home this evening..... around 19:45.... there was a police car pulling out of Pipe Lane & then i saw two police officers walking along the promenade... followed by another police car leaving the promenade, escorting an ambulance.... anyone know what happened? Don't want to seem nosy (ok i am) - but always good to know whats happening nearby..... (hope nobody is seriously injured of course!)

For future reference, it might be helpful to refer to Lothian and Borders Police Press Releases ~ http://www.lbp.police.uk/press_release/index.asp
They may have some information about the incident tomorrow.
I also noticed on the their website:
"We welcome queries about police business by email. If our Communications Centre staff can answer the query we will reply with the answer within 5 days. If the query needs to be referred to a specialist department you will be informed that this is has been done."

I have many friends involved with law enforcement so wholeheartedly support police departments.

M-t-P we had a forum dedicated to L&B press releases for a while. Problem is that Portobello very rarely features in these releases. They tend to focus on murders, fatal crashes and serious crime. Thankfully, such incidents are rare here. If anything major does occur then the EN are going to cover it anyway and we can then link to their article.Marguerite-the-Poet wrote:For future reference, it might be helpful to refer to Lothian and Borders Police Press Releases ~ http://www.lbp.police.uk/press_release/index.asp
In this case, I haven't seen anything in the press or anywhere else relating to this incident. Ideally, I would like the local Police Inspector to provide us with a weekly local crime report but my efforts in this direction have been fruitless thus far.
