Interesting that you should mention this. We were talking just the other day about perhaps having a local business directory on the site. What do other people think?

Local business listing.
We all I guess need the usual joiner, plumber, electrician from time to time. I find that a personal recommendation gives me a lot of comfort, especially with the hit and miss service that's available today.
I think a local business listing of all the services available from trades and businesses within Porty would be an excellent idea. If this were sourced by the people of Porty and the users of the Forum it would provide a quick , easily accessible and assured way of obtaining all those household trades.

Hi,
F. E. McDonald is one of the local joiners that have been in business in Portobello for a long time. They have also supported many community events over the years, most recently they were one of the sponsors of the Big Beach Bash.
Over the years I have had several jobs done by them.
I like using companies that give something back into the community where they operate from.
