Muse-Starlight from Black holes and revelations. The plinky plinky pianoy bit reminds me of something and I cant place it. ? Ultravox
Also added Placebo - Meds, Genesis- Selling England by the pound, Genesis-Trespass to mp3 player today.
See there's now a gadget that you can use to put your vinyl collection into the computer. USB turntable?
Anyone used one and are they any good? Although they're not cheap it might save me a fortune in buying Cd's for albums we already have on vinyl

Mike Oldfield - Discovery
ELO - greatest hits
Yes - Maginification
Pink Floyd - The Wall
Coldplay - X&Y
DO you think this is cool or sad for a 25 year old?
Went to see Yes a couple of times in the last two years. They are still very good but an acquired taste.
.....ambition makes you look pretty ugly

As I write I am listening to Harvest Moon by Neil Young. I thought it would be a nice idea to copy it for a friend. It seems that the rest of 'civilisation' is going mental buying presents that people don't need and while I'm sitting with my feet up recycling Neil Young to someone who will appreciate it. Yo Christmas.
Prom cycling for all.

That's all very well, Tom, and I'm sure you're feeling rather smug. But what I'm about to tell you will soon wipe the smile off your face.tom nimmo wrote:As I write I am listening to Harvest Moon by Neil Young. What you are doing is illegal, on two counts.
1. Home taping is killing music. It is theft, of the copyright variety, and I would not be doing my duty if I did not report you to the proper authorities, ie the police.
2. Harvest Moon, bar the title track - a woozy country rock ballad which sees Mr Young return briefly to his brilliant best - is a pretty piss poor album, and as such I would not be doing my duty if I did not report you to the proper authorities, ie the music police. Everyone knows that his best album is... Transformer.
How can you square being a Neil Young fan with stealing money out of his pocket? Why, the man's got a disabled child, for God's sake.
I see parallels, especially at this time, with the story of Scrooge, and the way he treated his employee, Bob Cratchitt (or whatever he was called). He had a disabled son too, Timothy (or something).
You should be ashamed of yourself.

Sorry, Cleopas. know what it's like to have something stuck in your mind. When we were in Kefalonia the taverna opposite had an ok selection of music except they kept playing Cat Stevens.( suppose coz he is half greek after all ) By the 6th time in the day Yusuf had warbled about his lady D'arbanville we'd have gladly seen them sleep so still/

"Cape Cod boys don’t got no sleds
Heave away, heave away
They slide down hills on codfish heads
For we’re bound for Australia
Heave away me bonny bonny boys
Heave away, heave away
Heave away and don’t you make a noise
For we’re bound for Australia
Cape Cod girls don’t got no combs…
They comb their hair with codfish bones…
Cape Cod moms don’t bake no pies
They feed their children codfish eyes
Cape Cod cats don’t got no tails
They lost them all in Cape Cod gales
Cape Cod dogs don’t got no bite
They lost it barking at the Cape Cod light
Cape Cod doctors got no pills
They give their patients codfish gills
Cape Cod ladies don’t give no thrills
They’re plain and skinny as the codfish gills
[[alternate version]]
Cape Cod boys don’t got no sleds
Haul away, haul away (yip!)
They slide down hills on codfish heads
And we’re bound away for Australia
So heave her up my bully bully boys, now
Haul away, haul away (yip!)
Well heave her up and don’t you make a noise
And we’re bound away for Australia"
