No i didn't think so, So sorry none of them will be getting my vote and i will be letting the good people of Craigmillar know that they have No intentions of Strolling up to there area.
Feel free to inform them that the Area they are standing is Now Portobello/Craigmillar and i certainly don't think that the area of Portobello has 18,000 people living there.
Maybe they feel they don't need the votes from the people in Craigmillar, please tell them to think again as Craigmillar is now a large area with a lot of votes up for grabs.
For them

I don't think that Bob shoving his opinions down everyone's throats will win Lawrence and Maureen many votes. I certainly had been totally put off voting for L & M via Bob's election rants. I did make up my own mind who to vote for and it wasn't them.

Agreed and I think you are right about the distribution lists. I'm all for Archie actually as I think he will take votes away from Stephen Hawkins, the Lib Dem candidate, who is also against a replacement PHS in Portobello Park.wangi wrote:Favourite guess would be from Maureen or Lawrence's distribution list - a few times in the past they have messed up and left all addresses viewable on the email.
Still completely unacceptable, and will do Burns a lot more harm than good.
And Sandra, I'm just pointing out my own personal reasons for supporting Lawrence and Maureen. One vote here or there isn't going to make any difference to the overall result.

I'm definitely not on either of those, so I remain mystified.wangi wrote:Favourite guess would be from Maureen or Lawrence's distribution list - a few times in the past they have messed up and left all addresses viewable on the email.

Are you a member of Porty Rugby Club or on PCATS distribution list?Jamesie wrote:I'm definitely not on either of those, so I remain mystified.wangi wrote:Favourite guess would be from Maureen or Lawrence's distribution list - a few times in the past they have messed up and left all addresses viewable on the email.

It's all a bit like using someone else's address book - without that someone else's knowledge or permissionMarya wrote:Are you a member of Porty Rugby Club or on PCATS distribution list?Jamesie wrote:I'm definitely not on either of those, so I remain mystified.wangi wrote:Favourite guess would be from Maureen or Lawrence's distribution list - a few times in the past they have messed up and left all addresses viewable on the email.

No need to even go there, it is simply bad etiquette. Taking advantage of the mistakes / bad practice of other individuals and groups who have clearly not shown sufficient care in looking after folks private details is not on. It's the behaviour that I expect from online warez & porn sites, not someone seeking elected office.seanie wrote:Is it not a breach of the Data Protection Act?

Well I'm not on Porty rugby club list but have had the occasional email from lawrence Marshall.
I also signed an online petition
I'm thinking of creating a new email account with a better spam filter to hand out to organisations that ask for an addy, unsolicited spam being a big grump to me at the moment.

Re: Did they
How ironic that Bob's rants have been answered by an equally irrelevant rant.Sandra wrote:Very well said Libby.Libby wrote:After they had finished there Canvassing down in Portobello did they take a leisurely stroll up to Sunny Craigmillar![]()

Going up after dropping Baby Dragon at school for Maths exam.
Will see if my dad is up there, he was talking about being apolling clerk.
This number thing looks like fun
Clanger 1 has a postal vote and was filling in the form last week. You'd have thought she was doing calculus but I dont think negative numbers are allowed.
She thinks awarding gold stars, silver stars etc would be easier.

Just voted. Emily (6) had already been down this morning with her mum so she knew the score and explained to me exactly how it worked and offered some voting suggestions, which happily coincided with my own thoughts.
I met our very own seanie, who had just voted, and ali at Polling Station 3. The nice lady behind the desk is my next-door neighbour and she was satisfied that I was in fact who I claimed to be, although she seemed to have some doubts about ali for some reason.

VOTING
Not only did I vote at 8am today at the Town Hall, but I became the FIRST person to spoil a ballot paper
(Hurrah, round of applause etc)!!!!! That totally threw them...ooops, I had to be reissued with 2 new ones and sent away to the wee booth to do it properly.
Bet I wasn't the only one who put a cross instaed of a number.

Nope, you definitely weren't the only ones, by the sounds of it - what a fiasco!

I think it was a mistake to have two different voting formats together in the one election as it just creates unnecessary confusion.
However individuals surely have to take some responsibility for taking the time to read the instructions properly. They were clearly spelled out at the top of each paper and not exactly difficult to follow.
