Oooo....in that case I've met him too! Way back in 1989 when Homer and I were preparing eagerly for our nuptials, we spent many 'interesting' evenings with several other poor unfortunate couples who were also forced to endure 10 weeks of marriage preparation classes. One of the guys was a Canadian who owned Mammas's Pizza. Should I have been impressed? Who/what is Gold Leader?

Not surprising really as he lives in Joppa. Mr Spoon used to go to his house now and again as he used to be friendly with his daughter.

Well, if it is the same bloke that I met at those invaluable marriage classes then he must have been a much quicker learner than myself and my other half

Saw Jimmy Saville today at St Mary's RC Catheral - he was the driver of a Jumbulance [bus to take disabled people long distances etc].

"Mass in the Cathedral:
Cardinal O’Brien will dedicate the newest Jumbulance which Across has built for Pope John Paul II. We welcome our visitors, Sir Jimmy Saville & the Across Charity and many groups who will join us."

So, it turns out we also saw Cardinal O'Brien too. I had never seen a cardinal in the flesh before either!

Shocking to see his tartan trackies, certainly!

Thanks for advice, Foxette, but until Mr John Lewis and Messrs M&S open up in Portobello, I'm afraid I'll keep having to make forays into the Other World! :P (But it was OK...I had Plug with me to keep me safe  )

Eileen McCallum (Isobel Blair - Take the High Road) was enjoying the Fantastic Four - Silver Surfer movie down at Ocean Terminal this afty.
She sat a few rows in front of D and I and we threw Skittles at her.
We didn't really but I had this strong urge to.

Fair made my day to see her. High Road was great and I still mourn it's passing to this day.

What? Rather than Silver Surfer meaning Norrin Radd, young astronomer of the planet Zenn-La, who in order to save his homeworld from destruction by the fearsome cosmic entity known as Galactus makes a bargain with the being, pledging himself to serve as its herald?

Possibly.

Famous Folk

Post by Puerto bella » 19 Jul 2007, 23:11

We have famous folk living right here in Porty. Met a lovely chap in Reds a couple of Sunday's ago, I thought I recognised him from about Porty but according to brother in law and sister in law he is a famous actor and they had watched him on a 'murder/ police' thing the night before. Can't remember his name but he was v. pleasant and chatted for a while.

Then of course there's me.........famous winger about dog poo, people who can't control their kids, one way systems, full recycling bins and folk bleeting on about why they lost the election.
