Portobello High School - the poll

Post by Bob Jefferson » 30 Sep 2006, 10:04

There are 3 options for the re-build of Portobello High School. This poll will remain open for the duration of the consultation. Only registered members are able to vote and you may vote only once.

This is a huge decision. You are encouraged to read the background reports, feasibility studies and arguments from all interested parties before voting. You may also wish to delay a decision until after the public meetings.

Sorry to say, this poll is worthless, it doesnt give any other viable options, only those promoted by POL

I think you will find that these are the 3 options that are the outcome of the report produced by the Independent Consultants. 8)

P.S. I have not voted either.

POL isn't promoting anything Dave. It doesn't make any sense to me to include poll options that do not form part of the consultation but feel free to use this thead to offer your own alternative site suggestions for PHS.

While I have your attention, is there a technical fault with the PPAG forum? It doesn't seem to allow me to register. In fact, when I click on the 'Register' button I get:
I am sorry you may not be registered, please contact the administrators
I tried to contact the administrators but got a 'page not found' error. Is the forum open to everyone or is it by invitation only?

I'm really starting to get a bit sick of being told what I am for, what I am against, and what I am promoting. It has been pointed out over and over again that POL takes no stance on the issue. Whilst Marya and Bob have stated their views clearly, that does not mean POL is taking any side in this debate, and just to remind everyone, they are not the whole of POL; nor should moderating and administrating this site mean that we forfeit any right to hold and express opinions. We are members of POL just like everyone else, and we have the same rights.

If people aren't happy with how they perceive things being done at POL they absolutely free to not use the site or forums.

Well up until this process started I wasn't even aware that the space in question was called Portobello Park!

Portobello Park is basically the bit ofthe park that doesnt contain the golf course.

Fair enough. I always assumed the football pitches and golf course formed the park but hey we live and learn.

As the consultation has now ended, the poll has been closed. A disappointingly low 'turn out' but a clear majority for a new PHS in the park, with a preference for Portobello Park.
