Add another one to the list - our car was stolen from Straiton Place last night - found by police on A1 this am.

Its always so unfair.
Why do they pick opn cars that are needed?
Theres been a car sitting in the bay for months that no one has touched, mind you the tyres are flat now.
On another note, keep house/flat doors double locked, there was a flat broken into in one of the stairs round here.
The time it happened to us it was a couple who worked their way around the area

Funny you should mention burglars, 2 weeks ago I confronted a couple of burglars at work who were doing over a flat at lunchtime. One had a hatchet which added to the excitment. Polis took ages coming. Not funny for the persons home that was getting done obviously.

Thanks folks. Not sure if it will be a write off - waiting to hear. Lots of damage to the steering and ignition as you would expect. Have felt all out of sorts with it all - god knows how bad it must feel to be burgled.

That hatchet story sounds really scary.

Ive thought about that myself, for me I dont think I would be particularly bothered at the stuff getting stolen, it can be replaced, although id be really pissed off like. But the fact that someone unwelcome had been in and rooted around the house, that would be the worst part for me.

As for the hatchet event, all part of the job. Although I never understand why its always the people next door. Ive dealt with three break ins, and in each of those three instances it was the person next door.!.

Heard from police today - two car thefts on the one night from the same street and a burglary - all possibly linked!
