Hello Porty Friends and Neighbours
I run so many other wider email lists myself, that I don't have time for "my local". So I hope I am hitting the right buttons now with this. Please put me right if I'm not.
Part of the PONGS fund raising programme is a Salsa Ceilidh that Stella Ellis and I are organsing for Fri 9th Oct in the Portobello Community Centre from 7pm to 11.30pm.
Created in Portobello by yours truly - you get some of it at our monthly Malecon Matinee in Beach Lane Social Club - Salsa Ceilidh is a lovely slow blend of Cuban and Scottish fun. Guided circle dances with easy-to-learn steps. Everyone can join in! No partner needed.
The World Premiere on Friday week is the first full "course" in one evening - with other acts, nibbles, drink, and a raffle – a great night for all!
Tickets are going fast - which is the reason I'm posting this message (and I'm not just saying it for effect! It's true, so you need to get yours quick rather than rely on paying at the door.)
They're £7 / £5 concessions. You get a free (non-alcoholic) drink before 7.30pm; kids free (but they need a pass). BYOB on the night.
Tickets from: Nick 07803097727; Kitcheners; Stella 07871323913; & Woodwares

Double Thanks for Salsa Ceilidh
Last Friday we had a great sold out World Premiere Salsa Ceilidh.
Many thanks to all those who came along and enjoyed the party, and helped make it such a success.
It raised a lot of fun. And it raised a lot of funds for PONGS - over £1200!!
So thank you twice over!
Nick
PS If you want to read more about it, see what happens next, find out where to go for some more (this weekend, eg, at Malecon Matinee on Sun 18th Oct in Beach Lane Social Club, 2.30-5.30pm - then go to the website:

Oh and . . .
. . . and of course thanks (again) to Stella Ellis and the team of PONGS workers, and also the performers (local and not so local) who helped it run so well.
