Just my online persona? You've just proved a point. Having an online persona which is different to a 'real' persona is two faced and hypocritical. So take your pick. I've chosen as far as you're concerned.Porty wrote:I'm afraid that over the last year or so, on the school debate, with your unwillingness or can't be botheredness or not playing the game, your on-lne persona has evolved into what Sean has described. Perhaps not.Epykat wrote:I have nothing to do with either Portygreenkeepers or PPAG .
However, your claim that "I have yet to see anyone in that category being welcomed with open arms on this forum."
Is untrue- you made it up.
You are just one exception that disproves your own claim with over 3500 posts.
Some other examples are : Dave and Alison Connelly, Kieran Sylvester, Lashylass.............. there's quite a few others. They have all been welcome and most are still welcome.

Yeah, just your online persona and even then only in the school debate. In real life I've not found you to be someone who makes something up and when challenged does the equivalent of "I can't be bothered" and then leaves the room. I'm obvioulsy mistaken.

Re: Identities
I dont post that much but i did think the site was informative for those in the Porty area. I'm a newbie to Joppa and its a shame that recently it seems to be imploding due to the emotive issue of the new school. Agree to differ - move on. For the record I have 3 kids and I'm ashamed by the actions of those trying to stop the build of the new school. Oh and who am I? I'm Dave. I live in Joppa on the front and can normally be found falling out of the Dalriada on a Thursday or Sat night!
Re: Identities
Maybe if you answered Bob's questions about the allegations posted with factual evidence he might feel more disposed to be kindly towards you?
Has TP become a public school, with males referred to by their surnames, by the way? Calling Bob 'Jefferson' could be viewed as anatagonistic by some people.

No, you're not mistaken and you haven't been mistaken for approximately 30 years. You then seem affronted when people can't find a reason to respect or believe what you have to say.
I fully accept it has taken me a long time to realise.

How you feel is entirely down to you.
Should you ever decide to participate on a proper level, engage on a factual basisl, stop making stuff up and cease being vindictive towards Bob and others- you may feel more welcome.

Yes I do. I think that people who post malicious and unfounded allegations should be banned and I'm sure that most people would agree with me. Let me remind you what you said about me:Lashylass wrote:Since when was I made to feel welcome? Jefferson keeps saying he wants me banned.
You have been asked several times to name this site, yet you keep evading the question. Why? Because it's a complete lie. You have a simple choice - tell us which site you are referring to or admit that you made the whole story up. Which is it?You recently cooked up a little site on which you delighted in sharing some people' personal details, including salaries, jobs etc.

Where will the 'lies' end - thats what worries me......at what point does it become completely not on?
How personal or defamatory do they have to get before the anonomous person is forced to back off, apologise or comply with the restraining order.
I think you might have a stalker Bob. Consider yourself a local celeb.

Re: Identities
This is just the latest example. When I get the time and inclination, I'm going to post a list of the false accusations that have been made against me. If I were the paranoid type, I might be starting to think that there was some sort of orchestrated campaign to discredit me. I'm sure you're wrong but I'll stick a padlock on the bin just in case.

Re: Identities
This is how it works. If you are going to make an allegation against someone, you have to be quite specific. It won't do, for example, to just say "I accuse you of murdering someone" and then when asked for more detail become all coy and mysterious. Because if you do that, you are going to be laughed out of court and then most likely face charges yourself. It's far better to get your facts straight from the outset. You know the sort of thing, carry out some basic investigation, check your facts and gather evidence. Otherwise, you end up looking pretty stupid.

Re: Identities
Let me get this straight and offer a hypothetical scenario...........- if Bob were to say ' I saw Lashylass stealing a pack of sausages from the co-op' is it ok not to evidence it and tell everyone Lashy is a thief? or if he were to say ' I saw Lashylass offering kids money and can only presume it was for something seedy/ illegal or both - are these remarks ok, albeit defamatory and have no substance?
Consider how is it any different to accuse someone, anyone - you just happen to have chosen Bob, of what you have Lashy and not at least come up with some evidence or retract it and apologise - after all if the shoe was on the other foot how would you react?

Here's a novel suggestion. Why don't those that have outed themseleves simply ignore those intent on stirring things.
Bob you're wasting your life on that particular fight. People can see after your first attempt to get evidence that that ain't goinna be forthcoming. Life's too short for wasting it on trolls.
Move on. Focus on the positive.

Re: Identities
Oh, I'm not losing any sleep over it. I'm just making Lashylass feel uncomfortable because he knows that if he names the site then I will disprove his allegation and he will be shown to be a liar. In the meantime, while he continues to beat about the bush and evade the question, he looks like an idiot. His third option of course is to apologise and in return for his apology I will promise not to sue him for defamation of character. Can't say fairer than that.

Were this real life and I was having a debate with a friend who was bulshitting, I'd have no trouble saying so without fear of falling out. That's all that's happening here. (I hope)
I still say that your BS problem only relates to the school and associated threads. And it makes it very difficult to hold meaningful discourse with you on this subject.
I'm not happy when you say anyone who is against the school are not welcome here and are immediately branded liars. The first assertion is completley untrue and the second relates to people like myself, Sean and maybe some others, and it is also untrue. You seem genuinly offended by all of this, surely you can see it works both ways?

I can absolutely see that it works both ways. However, from where I'm standing and in my experience, any time anybody new comes onto the forum and expresses an opinion or offers up an idea or states their point of view, they're 'tolerated' until such times as they reveal themselves to not be a 100% PFANNER and then they're ripped to shreds. Generally they disappear after that.Porty wrote:I'm not happy when you say anyone who is against the school are not welcome here and are immediately branded liars. I don't agree with your opinion and your experience does not accurately reflect the behaviour here on Talkporty.
Think of it another way . If yourself and your anti-school ilk would engage with factual accurracy and some accountability for the claims you make, TP would likely be a more civil place. For many, many people your (yourself and PPAG) bankrupt arguments have pushed the bounds of toleration and then some.

Re: Identities
Okay, you don't agree with my opinion, that's okay, however it doesn't then stand to reason that just because you don't agree with my opinion, that my opinion does not accurately reflect the behaviour here on Talkporty. Why would it just be automatic that I'm wrong and you're right? And that's a prime example of why things stink on this forum. You won't acknowledge the fact that you could just possibly be in the wrong regarding the way you treat others under any circumstances whatsoever. Everyone has to accept your opinions and are only safe from a total slagging if your tolerance levels are good?! That's a wee bit scary StephenPorty wrote:I don't agree with your opinion and your experience does not accurately reflect the behaviour here on Talkporty.
